CC0

Best fit for assets that may live in the repository. It allows use, modification, redistribution, and commercial use without required attribution, while still avoiding protected logos or recognizable third-party IP.

Conditional

Pixabay License

Acceptable for integrated portfolio visuals when quality is clearly better than CC0 alternatives. Do not redistribute the asset as a standalone pack, and avoid assets with brands, people, or implied endorsement.

Intake Checklist

  • Prefer CC0 for assets that ship inside the repository.
  • Use Pixabay assets only when the model is integrated into the game and not redistributed as a standalone asset pack.
  • Avoid logos, trademarked markings, recognizable characters, or assets based on protected IP.
  • Record the source URL, author, license, and download date before adding binary assets.
  • Keep runtime assets lightweight: GLB when possible, compressed textures, and simple collision geometry.
